Runway's Gen-3 Out of the Lab

Incredible New Examples of Runway's New AI Video Model

RunwayML is a fascinating company.

They built an AI-centric suite of tools for filmmakers and editors, introducing their Gen1 product, one of the first video-to-video models, and later a cutting-edge text-to-video AI model with Gen2.

Since then, the AI video scene has exploded with OpenAI's Sora, China's Kling, and LumaLabs' Dream Machine, making Gen2 look positively quaint.

Thankfully Runway’s Gen-3 is here and wow is it impressive. It feels much more like actual films than anything we’ve seen to date, likely due to Runway's filmmaker-centric approach.

This weekend, they released Gen3 to their Creative Partner Program, putting it in the hands of some of the internet's best creators. Here’s a list of some of our favorite generations.

And, of course, the great Dave Clark has already made a full blown short film.

We all have to wait a lil longer for general public access to Runway Gen-3 but it feels like this will be in our hands sooner rather than later.

That’s it for today! See y’all tomorrow.
