Your Weekly Dose of Fun AI News & Tools
WHAT? We’re back??
Yes, yes, y’all. The AI For Humans newsletter has returned from one week down and while we aren’t exactly sure what happened with last Saturday’s missive, we’re getting right back on the horse and have a fresh set of AI fun coming your way.
As always, please be sure to share this on your socials or with your friends.
By sharing this (and the show of course), you’re bringing both them and us joy, and we couldn’t be more grateful.
ONTO THE AI FRESHNESS!
🌭 HOT LINKS 🌭
We Be Fakin’ It
BeFake is a new (very simple) AI app that’s currently in the app store which takes the BeReal social network idea (one post, front & back camera, once a day) and gives it an AI twist. See… instead of being real, you’re being… fake.
We appreciate the simplicity of this but what we find interesting is that lots of these companies probably raised VC funds and are looking to find their break out product. Maybe this is it? We’re not sure, but it’s free. And, fake.
RunwayML Launches Watch Feature
AI4H favorite RunwayML (the ones with the text-to-video platform we’ve spent way too much money on) launched a really cool way to see all the amazing videos coming out of their service. It’s basically like a mini-TikTok for pieces of AI art and story.
Can We Interest You in… UNLIMITED VIRTUAL HUMANS?!?
Speaking of strange aliens, Human Generator is a free, fun way to play around with AI image software. You can easily craft different versions of yourself, or really, anyone. We’ve seen a few NSFW generations come out by accident so just watch what you ask for. And close the blinds, perhaps?

Open AI Buys A Game Company
Why in the heck would OpenAI purchase what is essentially a Minecraft clone? Well, there’s been a lot of speculation but we think it probably has something to do with the fact that video games are becoming a really great testing ground for AI technology.
See, video game worlds are essentially closed off virtual environments where you can test all sorts of odd and unusual circumstances, as anyone who “accidentally” drowned their Sims can attest.
Of course, the Global Illumination team looks pretty stacked as well (the CEO was the original author of the Instagram ranking algo) and this is an easy way to bring more talented people into the mix.
We expect that this will allow OpenAI to test out a bunch of stuff in these worlds and maybe even open up entirely new methods of AI interaction.

🪤 DUMB THING TO DO WITH AI 🪤
This just starting to blow-up on Friday and will likely be dead by tomorrow (thus is the way of the TikTok trend), but this is a nifty little AI integration into a TikTok filter which basically takes your picture, does a quick interpretation of it and then spits back a “meme”. It’s really pretty fun (and fast!), when it actually works.
🤖 AI FOR HUMANS LINKS 🤖
Speaking of TikTok, did you see Kevin’s deep dive on the Lara Croft AI and whether or not it’s actually real? It’s a mystery worthy of your time.
@aiforhumansshow Foxmaster is a YouTube channel thats been obsessed with Tomb Raider for a long time but just recently unveiled a new “self-aware” AI Lara ... See more
That’s it — we survived another week. Thank you, benevolent AI overlords.
Please don’t forget to share this newsletter, and our pod, with the world!
