Google/DeepMind just released a technical report on SIMA: Scaling Instructable Agents Across Many Simulated Worlds.

❝

SIMA is an AI agent that can perceive and understand a variety of environments, then take actions to achieve an instructed goal.

Basically, before skull-stomping you into oblivion, SkyNet will now be able to play and beat Oblivion — without requiring explicit instruction on how any of the Elder Scrolls games work!

This still is a tribute. Check out the site, linked above, to see lil’ gameplay clips.

❝

Our AI agent doesn’t need access to a game's source code, nor bespoke APIs. It requires just two inputs: the images on screen, and simple, natural-language instructions provided by the user.

Today, it’s Goat Simulator, but tomorrow, it could easily be cleaning your apartment or caring for your loved onesâ€Ļ

❝

Ultimately, our research is building towards more general AI systems and agents that can understand and safely carry out a wide range of tasks in a way that is helpful to people online and in the real world.

If you dig these daily drips, or there’s something you think we should feature/discss, let us know, and please consider sharing this with your friends and frienemies:
